Sterling Services are now in the detailed design and procurement stage for the new Government HMRC building in Central Square Cardiff, with a 40 weeks programme set to see installation begin in May.
This £2.3m sub-contract with Sir Robert McAlpine will see Sterling provide the beams, columns, mullions and spandrels in a Portland mix; featuring double story column units and spandrels spanning up to 12 meters long.
The building will provide a 265,000 sq. ft. office space for HMRC, having been fully pre-let prior to construction. Designed by Gensler Architects the building is aesthetically in keeping with the new Central Square area that seeks to become the new “hub” of Cardiff providing leisure, office and retail space close to the station.
