Design and manufacture commenced on the £1.4m Capital Square project in October 2014 with installation starting in July 2015. At a very early stage of the design process Sterling Services introduced the idea of picture frame panels instead of columns and beams. This had the effect of simplifying and accelerating the design process. The modular system enabled any panel to go in any position on the building. This standardisation resulted in increased productivity and reduced installation duration. Sterling Services are in the process of producing over 400 windows for the first phase. These are in assorted sizes to give the asymmetrical appearance as seen in the above images. A bespoke trailer stand was manufactured to ensure the safe, upright transit of these units to site, where Sterling’s site team will install.
